I love to read. My personal library is quite eclectic. I recently was browsing to purchase a new book when I came across a book called, “Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten” by Robert Fulghum. The basic idea of the book was to follow the Golden Rule. Be nice to each other, say please and thank you, and treat others how you would want to be treated. I must say in theory I agree with the author. However, I think that I could write a similar book. I would call it; “Every Important Life Lesson I Learned in Hospice.”
Each of us has the same number of hours in a day. What we do with them is a personal choice. When I am working with an individual that is facing a life limiting illness they always seem to know how they want to spend their time. They want to be near those they love the most. They want to say things they need to say. They want to laugh and create memories. They want to leave nothing unsaid or undone.
